Unicamp Head of Operations Crew
The Head of Operations Crew will embody the ideals and spirit of Unicamp. S/he will be in charge of coordinating the Operations Crew, maintaining the cleaning supplies and assisting in the maintenance of camp, under the direction of the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director. She/he reports to the Camp Director. The Head of Operations Crew will also assist the CIT Program Director and other staff as necessary.Responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a team,
- Reporting to the Camp Director,
- Working with Head of Maintenance, the Kitchen Manager and the Program Director to ensure adequate staffing and even distribution of time off,
- Ensuring that all camp accommodations and shared facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition,
- Relieving other management staff as needed on days off
- In cooperation with and assistance of the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director; train, schedule, supervise and monitor Operations Crew staff,
- Preparing performance evaluations midseason and end of season of Operations Crew staff in consultation with the Camp Director,
- To inventory, plan and purchase cleaning supplies and paper goods,
- To be familiar with registration procedures and billing process,
- Submitting a written appraisal of the summer activities to the Camp Director before the AGM.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Member of a Unitarian Universalist Congregation,
- Experience in the hospitality industry, food handling, house cleaning,
- Interest in basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, tree and wood cutting, and landscaping,
- Familiarity with Unicamp,
- First Aid or Lifesaving.
Conditions of employment and salary:
- $225 per week X 9 weeks full-time, late June to Labour Day. Specific dates to be negotiated upon signing of contract.
- Off season work to be negotiated on an individual basis,
- One and a half days off per week, not during weekends,
- Work week runs Sunday until Saturday, unless otherwise noted.
